Call the Marketing Department. The Sea Rescue team for Insurance companies.
Let’s say they’re late with your renewal quote (I hate brokers who wait til the last minute to provide renewals. Idiots.), or they won’t give up the LOSS RUNS reports, then what recourse do you have?
I call the Marketing Reps. These guys/gals are cheeky sales types, who are doing their very best to keep their company’s reputation above water. When an underwriter gives me shit, or Loss runs have not been forthcoming, one phone call magically gets that sinking ship afloat.
Why? Because the marketing rep wants to make sales, and keep business. All other aspects of an insurance company are looking to minimize risk, not pay claims, and generally sea storm you back into port. Marketing reps are engaged in the market, sink or swim. Capitalism is the buoyancy of the world.
[Disclaimer: This no longer works in health insurance. Y'all sunk there. I'm speaking of commercial lines: General Liability, Business Auto, and especially Workers Comp]
